The Big Game

We didn't shell out money for tickets to the big game of Butler vs. Duke on Monday night. If we went to Lucas Oil I wanted seats in the 100 or 200 level, and they were way out of our price range, so we decided we'd be just as happy to watch at the free viewing party at Hinkle Fieldhouse. We may not have been in the same building as the players, but we were in the building where it all began, and the home to this amazing team.

There were 6 big screens set up on the floor and we were seated in the second row, directly in front of one. They had a DJ who was spinning during commercial breaks and even Hink the Bulldog came out to play (I guess they have 2 bulldog costumes, who knew?). By the time the game got going I'd say there were safely 3,000 - 4,000 people in attendance.

Before the game, fellow alumn and basketball band member Jen Claudy drove from Cincy to our house and we all went to the game together...

And, what was super cool were all the alumni we ran into...including some we hadn't seen in years.

We didn't win, but had a great time. Hey, there's always next year, right?
