I know. I disappeared off of this site for almost a month! That's what having a baby will do to you! Lots of lack of sleep and trying to keep up with life while having a newborn around is a challenge.
But I am here, and Brett is here with us now!
Where I left off.... I was going to be induced. So, that Sunday night I was admitted to the hospital and they started me on some IV's and whatnot trying to get labor going. I managed to sleep somewhat through the night. Not too bad until about 10:00 the next morning when the doctor broke my water and they really got it going. I had never been in so much pain in my life. I couldn't even talk, hardly able to breathe. FINALLY, the got the epidural going around noon ( I had to wait for like 45 minutes.. the WORST 45 minutes in my life). And, for the most part I was okay. Pushing really took it's toll on me. It was not easy, but finally at 7:28 p.m., Brett entered the world, and our world has since changed forever.
So, we've been home with the little guy for almost 3 weeks now! He started by not sleeping at all through the night. Since then, he's adjusted for the most part. Although, he didn't sleep at all last night and mommy and daddy are really tired today.
Brett was born at 37 weeks, so he immediately had a problem with jaundace (his liver wasn't mature enough). He had a lot of bilirubin in his system and we had to work on getting it out. So, at the end of our first week, we had to spend another 2 days in the hospital, while Brett spent time under bili lights. That was hard. He had to have his eyes covered for like 30 hours and constant blood work and we couldn't hold him. I was sooo glad when they released him.
Otherwise, we've just been learning how to be parents, with Brett's help. He eats alot, makes a lot of dirty diapers and sleeps alot. I can't wait until he's more interactive, but I also know I'll miss him being so small.
So, I'll try to update more often on here now that we've gotten life figured out a little better... but for now here are some pics of our new little man!

He's such a cutie pie! Look at all that blond hair! What a beautiful blessing he is. We've been praying for you. I'm so glad you all are home safe and sound. Congratulations!!!
What, you had a new baby and were too tired to blog? :) What an adorable little boy. How do you like being a mommy? Still feeling "non-maternal"? :)
